Oh my, oh my! I had bought this 2pc Walnut P'51 bass body long ago; it wasn't expensive due to a machining error on the side of the neck pocket joint (see the neck plate detail picture), which doesn't affect anything concerning sound, intonation, etc. Later, I found a cool non-Fender neck selling, thick like the 50's P bass necks were, in mint condition.
My first thought was to sell the relic body, but this Walnut texture is way too beautiful to be covered. So I tinted it with Dark Oak spirit-based tint, I worned it by hand and applied a thin clear nitro coat (satin). Lovely!! Got to get me a bass!
