#202544 :: Americana Classic SSS set in Relic Aged Mary Kaye finish :: SOLD

Hey, hey!

My dear friends, this is not one of my best achievements. Let's start from the beginning; in 2024 a client from the US asked me for a Mary Kaye finish on a Strat ash body. I had already told him I run away from custom orders like the devil runs away from the cross - portuguese expression - but he insisted, and I accepted... my fault.

The first try didn't look good, way too yellow. He sent me the 2 pictures you see below as a guide to what he wanted (the message on it is a reminder for me, sorry about that). And this is what I've done... The problem is that I went a bit too far on the temperature treatment, and the nitro made some "bubbles" that would peel in the future. It looked great, but I had to sacrifice the looks for safety and peel them myself. Is it bad? No, absolutely not, but that area next to the jack input cavity annoys me a bit.

The good side is that you have here a pre-Brexit made in UK 2-pc Swamp Ash body weighing 1.9Kg only that I kept preciously in my vault, and a neck and pickguard that were selling with my latest Hot Rod Red body, which the client didn't want because he had already other parts. So here you go, Maple/Rosewood vintage neck, 9.5" radius, 21 fret, medium C profile and truss rod at heel with Philips screw. The pickguard is a 3-pc black SSS model bought at ADP Guitar Parts.

Cheers!
