I began this bass I was leaving the house where I lived for about 6 -7 years, 3 of them with my new wife, and this customer, Rik, proved to be a patient man. He asked me to inspire myself on the first picture you see here, the bottom area, a CS Fender P bass, but with other colours and strings through the body... That's where the thing scared me a bit; a custom mahogany body from Guitarbuild is expensive by it self, and adding the string-thru option would make it more expensive still. So I proposed to do it myself (sometimes I wonder why I do I get myself in trouble like this...). Plus, it was a tone over tone relic.
Rik sent me a real vintage used Fender neck that fitted like a glove and all the hardware for me to do a slight relic on it.
I took a lot of time to do it, maybe 3 months. I bought a drilling machine and a new spray gun (maybe those who have seen my work until then never realised I was doing the finishes with a used airbrush, which took hours just to do one body!), until little by little, I have achieved it. And without further delay, here it is!
