#202318 :: Bastarda S/X "Mrs. Hazel" hybrid set in Heavy Relic Transparent Vintage White :: SOLD

It's a bird... it's a plane... it's Superman!".

How can I call it? Tele shaped body with a Strat neck, one pickup only but not an Esquire, Cabronita pickguard but no Filtertron pickups.

It all started with a 2.5Kg Poplar body. Made a belly cut by hand to reduce weight and also cut down a cavity under the pickguard to finally reach 2.2kg. The inspiration was a one-Filtertron  Custom Shop Cabronita I saw while surfing on internet, at the Chicago Music Exchange website. You can see that particular photo below.

The Trans White nitro finish is pretty great and reacted well to the checking treatment. However, read carefully now, there's a chance that the sides may peel here and there. Not so much the front or the back. That's why I will sell it with a small bottle of the same Nitorlack hazelnut tint, so you can tint the wood when that happens. It did happen when I was doing the final assembly. What do you have to do? Easy: 1) Grab a cotton Q-tip, the thing we use to clean our ears, 2)  Deep one tip of the Q-tip in the Hazelnut tint and paint the bare wood area now showing. You will probably tint the surrounding finish lacquer, but don't worry about it. 3) Let the wood dry for a couple of minutes, 4) Clean the tint excess over the surrounding lacquer with a FEW drops of alcohol on a piece of toilet paper and you're ready to go.

Where was I? Yes, lovely nitro checking, one single-coil cavity, and a back control cavity like Cabronitas. I haven't opened any pot holes, but the set includes 2 relic'd knobs; you can install a volume, a volume and tone, or, for the weird wiring lovers, kill-switch, split switch, on-off switch, bla, bla, bla...

For some specs now.
