Another beautiful Stratocaster (simple) set! Body, neck and anodized aluminium relic'd gold pickguard.
These cannot be sold separately, let me explain why; the neck has a bit over 26mm height at the middle of the heel edge instead of 25mm, so I had to lower the neck pocket cavity in order to respect the right measurements. Warmoth's website has a great page about these technical details and I trust their knowledge. So instead of 16mm, that pocket is now about 18mm deep, to compensate the over height of the neck, to ensure the vibrato saddles won't go too high. Stable routing with my mini-router, sanding, and everything is nice now, thank God! I hate to do it with the relic'd finish already on but I need my guitars to play good, not just look good.
The specs!
:: Classic SSS 2-pc Alder Stratocaster body from AC Guitar Shop in Portugal (don't forget that their stamp isn't on the neck pocket anymore because my new routing erased it), wheighing 1.88kg (not bad!!).
:: 21 fret vintage Stratocaster maple/rosewood neck, with 2-way truss rod at heel and 7.8mm machine head holes (probably you'll have to open them until 8.5mm to install Klusons or similar). C medium shaped profile / Nut width: 41.8mm / Heel width: 55,4mm / Height at 1st fret: 21mm / Height at 12th fret: 22.6mm.
I started by a Sunburst but it lacked yellow/amber in the middle, so I covered it in vintage white. The relic went pretty great on a Sunday afternoon (and evening!), and I decided then to do a neck for it. That's the reason why I couldn't do the adjustments in the very beginning of the project. Everything was "dirtyed" at the very end, you have certainly already seen other dirty finishes from me here, I love doing that with my special sauce.
Hope you enjoy it, take care, and God bless you and your family!
