My friend Stefan sent me pictures of his finished project. I had done a P bass body in medium relic Sunburst for his '62 Precision original neck, and I'll leave you with his own words:
"Dear Alex,
Just wanted to give you an update on my project and send
you some pics as promised. First of all I absolutely love the finish an
relicing on this bass!!! I recently got it assembled by Keller Guitars.
Assembly was a bit difficult as the the holes
in the neck pocket where a bit off, so we had to drill new holes to
make the neck fit (just as an info if you want to match fender neck with
another body). Apart from that everything went fairly
smooth.
The bass looks killer. Put an original 1964 PG on it,
which I found for the project and an Klein Epic 1962 Pickup which sounds
authentic. Also tried it with a gold anodized guard, which also suit it very well!
