Several months ago I've bought this asian neck on eBay. And there's nothing wrong with it (although it's slightly narrower than 55,5mm at the heel), but I let myself fall in love for the flamed maple and when it got to me I realized it was not that vintage looking; 22 fret, truss rod at the headstock, 10mm machine head holes...
Now that I've received 4 Strat bodies from my friend César at AC Guitar Shop, I chose one in 3-pc african mahogany which had the narrowest of the neck cavities, and decided to make a set with the neck in question. The body weighs 2Kg, and I'm adding one aged cream SSS pickguard with both of these parts. Yes, the truss rod works well both ways, and it's set to zero point right now, meaning, flat.
By the way, I prefer the matching stock because a headstock in mahogany would be too much of a contrast IMO. I've tinted the mahogany back of the neck to give it a more used look, hope you guys like it.
