I had promised Steven I would do him a P55 bass since quite a while. The problem, as usual, is to find a reliable neck at a reasonable price. We thought about buying the body at Guitarbuild, but... the neck was missing. So after a while he decided to wait and order both from a luthier. It was surely more expensive but at least there wouldn't be any compatibility issues.
The inspiration, as for many P55 enthusiasts, was Sting's bass. Honestly, apart from the glamour, it's not the best looking aged bass I've seen, so I decided to relic the same areas, but with the Baldman techniques.
Does it look real aging? Probably not. But once you see it, that's just a detail we forget right away :)
