My first "FAKE-F" set! Will it be the last?
Well I don't know. Some may hate it, some might like it, let's see. I could say it's a feature too lighten the weight a bit, but it doesn't really make a big difference; 50 grams maybe? But I always loved the look of the F-hole, from the ES style guitars to the graphics on Paul Gilbet's RGs, the violin spirit look. As a kid I draw a lot of guitars, unfortunately those drawings no longer exist, but I remember doing an SG guitar model (Angus Young was my favorite guitar player then and I had a big poster of him on my room door) with a violin-style contour in black gradients by charcoal pencil. When I was a graphic designer back in the 2000s the company where I worked bought a big horizontal printer that could print a lot of materials, and I convinced my boss to print F-holes in black on an unfinished RG-style body I had bought on a very known website/platform.
Lately César at AC Guitar Shop asked me if I wanted a 3-pc basswood Tele with 1.9Kg he had, and I told him I would buy it right away if he could cut a fake F-hole on it, which he did. I can't say it's a Butterscotch finish because it's pretty dark, so I think "Amberscotch"is more appropriate. Although I have in my favorites a Tele by Vincent van Trigt that isn't very far from this color and they still call it Butterscotch Blonde. This is more of a redhead in my opinion.
The pickguard was customized by myself, by hand, as usual. This one has also the solderless 250k Telecaster 3-way standard kit I've used on the #202526 set, and I've included a set of pickups. I'm not going to lie, these were bought on Alixp... (you know) for 20 Euros. They call it 1964 set and it's supposed to be "Alnico III Hot Classics". What I want to know from the person who's going to buy it (I hope) is if they sound good or not. The reviews are good, but ... well, are they real?... Hope so.
The rest are the same parts I use all the time: same 1-pc maple 9.5" radius neck with medium C profile, Allparts machine heads, WSC Partsland bridge (not Göldo this time, but basically a clone), Thomann's small parts like string bushings and strap buttons, bla bla bla.
Enjoy!!
