2025 projects aren't over yet, but projects for 2026 have already started, and this is the first one. As I stated on my Instagram, once in a while I get myself into trouble if I find that the risk is reasonable. Working on someone's guitar is more stressful than working on my own pieces.
I have accepted a request to work on a guitar with a body made of wood that is over 90 years old! Several worm holes are indeed proof! The body is unfinished and the fretboard on the neck is rosewood. Maple is a pain to remove a finish, that's one of the reasons why I usually refuse a refinish. And by the way, this is a lovely quilted maple Warmoth neck!
Although nitro checking is everywhere, the temperature treatment worked better on the back. Maybe because it's a different wood from that on the front.
Anyway, I love the final assembly, absolutely gorgeous!
